Tucked away in the heart of Ubud, Orchid Duck Restaurant has quickly become a must-visit for lovers of refined Japanese cuisine with a Balinese twist. Founded in October 2022 by Le Cordon Bleu-trained Chef Suartina Sumerta, the restaurant is part of the renowned Bebek Tepi Sawah Group, offering a modern take on Bali’s beloved local duck.
Chef Suartina brings over a decade of F&B experience, with fine-dining roles across Manila, Singapore, and London. With her global expertise and local roots, she set out to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience that blends tradition, innovation, and high-quality local produce.

Orchid Duck’s specialty lies in its Balinese-Japanese fusion menu, with a strong focus on duck dishes, premium wagyu beef, and fresh sushi. The star of the menu is the Duck 3 Ways — featuring three cuts of duck: duck breast, duck leg, and duck tenderloin, prepared either shio-style or marinated in Japanese duck tare.

Another standout is the chef-led Sukiyaki experience, where diners can enjoy premium wagyu or duck — making Orchid Duck one of the first restaurants in Indonesia to serve Duck Sukiyaki. The tableside preparation adds a theatrical touch that enhances the immersive experience.
Sushi lovers will find themselves at home here, with a menu of beautifully plated nigiri, sashimi, and rolls crafted with the freshest ingredients. From the melt-in-your-mouth tuna to the delicate balance of flavors in each roll, every bite reflects precision and care.

Equally impressive are the steaks — from wagyu tongue to juicy ribeye — grilled to perfection and served with house-made sauces and thoughtful accompaniments. It’s a rare treat to enjoy sushi and steak of this caliber under one roof.
The setting enhances the experience even further. Surrounded by lush gardens and blooming orchids, the restaurant offers a tranquil escape from Ubud’s buzz. Elegant interiors inspired by Balinese architecture create a sense of calm and intimacy — ideal for a romantic dinner, a celebratory meal, or a relaxed afternoon with friends.
