Two Sides of Bali: Staying with Ini Vie in Seminyak and Sanur

Bali rarely delivers just one version of itself.

In the same trip, you can move from stillness to stimulation, from private pool mornings to coastal walks at sunrise. What makes Ini Vie Hospitality interesting is how clearly their properties reflect those shifts in mood.

Over one stay, I experienced two very different expressions of Bali under the same portfolio: Sini Vie in Seminyak and Seascape in Sanur. What stood out wasn’t just the difference in design, but how distinctly each property made me feel.

For travellers deciding where to stay in Seminyak or Sanur, these two properties offer very different but equally compelling experiences. Together, they created two entirely different chapters of the same island.

Sini Vie, Seminyak: A Romantic Retreat

Arrival at Sini Vie feels like stepping into a quieter pocket of Seminyak.

While the area is often defined by beach clubs and traffic, the resort intentionally slows the pace. Check-in is seamless and personal, with a welcome drink and a traditional Balinese blessing ceremony that immediately grounds the experience in local culture.

The villas are where Sini Vie settles fully into its identity.

Design leans into a traditional Balinese aesthetic, warm textures, natural tones and open-air elements, without feeling dated. Even older room categories feel well maintained and thoughtfully styled.

The private pool is the hero. Larger than expected and completely secluded, it feels functional rather than decorative. The indoor-outdoor bathroom concept adds to the tropical atmosphere, with open-air showers balanced by indoor comfort.

Everything about the villa encourages you to stay put.

The floating breakfast, a Bali classic, served in the private pool, is undeniably Instagrammable, but importantly, the food holds up. Flavourful fried rice, well-balanced waffles and fresh fruit make it more than just a photo opportunity. For couples especially, it becomes a shared moment rather than a practical meal.

Beyond the villas, the main pool and swim-up bar introduce a slightly more social energy without disrupting the calm. To extend the experience beyond the resort, Seminyak is also home to some of the best spas in Seminyak. The spa continues the slower rhythm, offering traditional Balinese treatments that suit the property’s retreat-style atmosphere.

Dinner at Shichirin adds contrast. The Japanese restaurant brings movement and interaction through teppanyaki and izakaya-style dining. Flames, performance and playful menu twists shift the tone for the evening.

Sini Vie ultimately feels romantic, private and intentionally removed from Seminyak’s busier edges. The complimentary shuttle makes accessing central Seminyak simple, but returning to the quiet becomes the real reward.

For travellers searching for a private pool villa in Seminyak that prioritises intimacy and escape, this is where Ini Vie excels.

Seascape, Sanur: A Modern Coastal Shift

Moving from Seminyak to Sanur feels like changing tempo.

Seascape leans into a more contemporary identity. Clean lines, darker finishes and a polished aesthetic replace the tropical softness of Sini Vie. The mood is cooler and more lifestyle-driven.

Rooms feel modern and refined. While the private pool remains a key feature, the layout moves closer to a loft-style luxury hotel concept. A standout detail is the in-room projector screen that drops down in front of the bed, turning the suite into a private cinema by night. Watching films beside the pool quickly became one of the most memorable moments of the stay.

Like Sini Vie, Seascape positions itself slightly outside the centre of activity. Sanur’s beachfront promenade and cafes are easily accessible via shuttle, but the property itself remains removed from noise.

Compared to Seminyak, Sanur feels softer and more relaxed. Seascape complements that energy well. Seascape complements that energy well, reflecting many of the reasons why Sanur deserves your next stay.

Dining at Tsune reflects this shift. Where Shichirin felt energetic and interactive, Tsune presents a more refined and polished experience. The ambience feels elevated, almost city-like, with a focus on presentation and atmosphere over performance.

Breakfast maintains consistency across the Ini Vie portfolio, reliable, varied and accommodating to a diverse guest mix.

For those looking at where to stay in Sanur, Seascape suits travellers who prefer contemporary design paired with coastal calm.

One Portfolio, Two Moods

What defines Ini Vie Hospitality is not that one property is better than the other, but how successfully they create two different emotional experiences.

Sini Vie is about retreat. Privacy. Romance. Slowing everything down.

Seascape feels contemporary. Polished. Connected to Sanur’s evolving coastal scene.

Both share a similar philosophy: close enough to Bali’s busiest hubs for convenience, yet distant enough to preserve genuine calm.
