Mosto × Nextdoor: A Fire-Fuelled Feast Lands in Berawa for One Night Only

Some nights are made for the calendar. Others, for the group chat. This one is both.

On Thursday 27 November, Bali’s cult-favourite neo-bistro Mosto is teaming up with Nextdoor, the South Perth kitchen known for its flame-kissed cuts and no-rules approach to meat, for a one-night-only chef collab that promises to go big, go bold, and go late.

They’re calling it: one night, all fire, no rules.

This is not a tasting menu. There’s no gentle progression. No palate cleanser. Just two chefs - Mosto’s Lorenzo De Petris and Nextdoor’s Elliot “Chef Macbeth” Sawiris, throwing down on the grill with an à la carte line-up built around prime Australian cuts, smoke, and serious flavour.

Expect plates that hit hard and linger long: OP rib, Southern Australian lamb, snacks that punch above their weight, and wine by the glass to match. Loud plates, turned-up textures, and nothing playing it safe.

So, who’s behind it?

If you’ve been eating your way through Bali lately, you’ve probably sat at Mosto’s concrete bar. Opened by the team behind  Bar Bacetto and Luma, it’s one of the island’s few natural wine bars with a menu that walks the line between bistro and banger - anchovy toast, fresh pasta, and buttery proteins are the norm.

Chef Lorenzo De Petris, with previous stints at Le Gavroche (London) and The Waterside Inn, brings sharpness to every plate, but lets it breathe in the Bali heat.

Enter Chef Macbeth, aka Elliot Sawiris. The Nextdoor head chef is a cult name in Perth’s food circles: known for unapologetic cooking, open flames, and some of the best meat-led menus in WA. His kitchen at Nextdoor runs next to family-owned butchery and produce shop “Our Table”, which means one thing: he knows his cuts.

This is a chef who treats proteins like poetry, but still knows when to turn up the heat.

The vibe? Think fire, friends, and flavour.

This isn’t a quiet dinner. It’s a kitchen party in full swing. You’ll want to come hungry, stay late, and lean into the energy, the kind that only happens when chefs cook side-by-side, feeding off each other’s instincts.

The à la carte menu is exclusive to the night and not built for Instagram aesthetics. It’s for full-flavoured bites, charred edges, and that moment when your table falls silent because the food just hits.

Collaborations like this are the pulse of Bali’s dining scene. They break the pattern. They cross the ocean. And they bring something special, a sense of “you had to be there.”

Whether you're a Bali local, in town for the surf, or just here to eat well, this is the night you don’t want to scroll past.
