Do you know that your body is full of what we call connective tissue? It regulates how our cells function. Every organ, muscle and bone in our bodies is formed by a framework of sponge-like material called connective tissue. Exercises that create a gentle traction of this tissue are yin. Holding a stress on the tissue for several minutes creates a phase change in its fluids, which results in a lengthening of the tissue and a feeling of ease. It promotes healing of the tissue and muscle. Without Yin, Yang cannot heal the body.
