Jamie is a very well known TV host, actor, singer and musician in Indonesia.

He is perhaps best known as a member of the pioneering core team of MTV VJ superstars in the 1990s. He won “Best Entertainment Presenter” at the Asia Television Awards two years in a row (1996, 1997) as well as “Best Show” for the show he hosted – “MTV Screen” in 1998.

More recently, Jamie was a judge on “Indonesian Idol”, and released his critically acclaimed album “LMNOP.”

He performs regularly at large-scale music events such as “Java Jazz” and “Soul Nation.”

Jamie has hosted six shows for MTV and three shows for Discovery Asia, including “Sync or Swim,” “Passageway to Malaysia,” and “After 12.” Jamie has also starred in commercials for clients like Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Sanyo, LG, Canon Printers, Telkomsel as well as a few Indonesian films.

Musical Background:

Jamie started playing gigs when he was 17 year old, in Canberra, Australia. He then went on to play Guitar around Australia with Soweto street jit band "Rufaro" opening up for the likes of The Wailers,Yosou'n dour, Angelique Kidjo, Kanda Bongo Man, Bhundu Boys, Mango Groove , Mahlatini and the Mahotella Queens, Lucky Dube and Steel Pulse.

After feeling the call to explore his Indonesian musical heritage, he moved back to Indonesia to study the West Javanese Flute, suling and a type of Zither or Kecapi. In that time he also learned the Didgeridoo and Percussion and ended up playing together with Jamaican percussionist and vocalist Rasambai at The International Drum Festival in Jakarta representing Jamaica.

He also toured with Indonesian Fusion Group Krakatau and played in various blues bands around Indonesia. He's toured Java playing guitar with Iwa-K opening for Run DMC, played Guitar with Vika and Linda on their Australian Tour, lead guitar with Danny Mcgill's rock outfit "Power Onions" Headlining the Golden Tones Rock Festival in Dhaka Bangladesh. He performed original songs solo at the Singapore Green Day Concert in Fort Canning.

Jamie took a break from most of his musical activities when he became an MTV VJ and continued performing & recording again around 2006.
