Startup Grind Bali with David S. Abraham
Genius Café host its fifth Startup Grind event of the series on Wednesday, 25 January.
Being the local chapter of the global Startup Grind community, we join in the mission: organizing events that inspire, educate and connect entrepreneurs.
This time Roger James Hamilton interviews a leading expert and speaker on rare metals, author of the clitically-acclaimed book 'The Elements of Power' and a co-founder of Outpost coworking space David S. Abraham.
David co-founded Outpost, Ubud’s spacious new coworking/coliving space, home to dynamic people seeking an idyllic, productive lifestyle.
He started Outpost after a career that spanned from Wall Street to the White House, from a remote Lithuanian village to Tokyo University. He started operations of a clean water organization in the US, Japan and Uganda, and advised on risks at a commodities trading firm.
His work in commodities led him to travel the world for three years to understand the impacts of our changing resource needs to power a new green and high-tech era. The experience led to the award-winning book, the Elements of Power, hailed by the Literary Review as “remarkable.” It also led to the realization that many could soon travel and be productive.
David is Senior Fellow at the New America Foundation and a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations. His previous writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and the Wall Street Journal. He has been selected for young leader awards in Japan, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.
