Artificial Intelligence: What, Why, How?
An introduction to AI and how to utilize it in your startup
Artificial Intelligence – You’ve probably heard this term thrown around a lot in the last few years, but what does it actually mean? With AI becoming more mainstream and access to using it becoming simpler, companies are finding that their data and offering can be enriched through its use. This session will cover the basics of AI – what it is, what it entails and how companies are using it. It will then give an overview of how certain types of startups can also harness the power of AI (as well as giving the limitations of AI in current context).
What People Will Learn:
- Learn what we mean by the term Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
- Learn the current state of AI and how companies, large and small, are utilizing it.
- Learn how to start thinking about using AI, what types of companies it will help and what the limitations of current AI are.
- An overview of future progress of AI.
About the speaker:
Jakob Aungiers is the Founder & CEO of Altum Intelligence, a startup specialising in outsourcing of AI solutions and powering AI strategies within companies. Jakob comes from a background of banking and technology; before founding Altum Intelligence he was a Vice-President at HSBC Global Asset Management where he headed up the Quantitative Research Development area within the Investment Strategy team.
Jakob’s background is a Masters of Engineering degree in Computer Science and over the past 5 years he has found himself specialising in the area of using AI within the banking and investment space. In 2017 Jakob quit his corporate life to found Altum Intelligence and travel the world after falling out of love with the London lifestyle. Currently he is in Bali until the end of November after which he hopes to ground himself on the East Coast of Australia. Jakob also loves skydiving, surfing and a healthy slice of cheesecake!
