Omed Omedan


Omed-omedan is a ceremony that is usually held every year after Nyepi by young people Banjar Kaja, Sesetan Denpasar, Bali. Omed-omedan comes from the Balinese language means that a tug - pull. The origin of this ceremony is not known for certain, but it has long since ancestors and preserved for generations.Omed-omedan involves youth sekaa teruni or young people aged 17 to 30 years old and unmarried. Omed-omedan procession began with praying together to invoke safety. Then men and women will be split into two groups that will one by one they will be in the wine or in cooperation with their respective groups and then kiss, then within a few seconds, they will flush by a few buckets of water while kissing.
