As one of the oldest restaurants in Ubud, you might think that Nomad Restaurant would be stuffy and old-fashioned. However, like Ubud itself, Nomad offers a mix of fresh, modern Asian and Western tastes mixed in with Balinese classic cuisine and hospitality. This is a great place for family meal, a leisurely afternoon tea or beer, or a romantic evening out. If you want to try a good range of exotic Balinese flavors, go for the Balinese tapas menu. You can choose from enticing dishes such as Crispy Tempe (fried beancurd patty), Tofu Goreng (fried tofu), Balinese Vegetable Lawar (chopped beans and grated coconut), or Spicy Fish Satay Lilit (ground fish mixed with spices and grilled on skewers). Depending on how many people are sharing and how hungry you are, you can choose plates of 3, 6, 9 or 12 mixed tapas. For those who are craving more familiar flavors, Nomad also offers excellent soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas and main courses such as hamburgers, steaks and seafood. Nomad?s central location makes it an ideal place to meet up with friends or simply drop in for an afternoon cake and coffee as you watch the processions on the main road go by. Lunches and dinners can be very busy, so you may want to call ahead and arrange a table, particularly if you are planning on dining with a group.
