Kayu Bakar, which translates to firewood, brings you modern contemporary meat, poultry, seafood and vegetable dishes with the emphasis on grilling and roasting techniques by Chef Fany Hermawan. It all starts with the use of coffee wood and various fruit woods such as Rambutan & Malang Apple, which are placed in the fire burning oven and grill to create the warmth of a home cooked meal whilst naturally smoking and flavouring the food. This simplest and humblest of fuels has been used since the Stone Age for light, warmth and cooking. Fire is one of the most important discoveries of mankind and at Kayu Bakar, we strive to pay homage to this versatile natural source.
