Bali, as with most of Indonesia, is positioned directly on top of the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area in which a large amount of seismic activity, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions can occur. As a result, from time to time this activity can interrupt even the most perfectly planned travel experiences.

Again yesterday Mt Agung said hello with some constant steam and ash erupting from the crater. The Ngurah Rai Airport Authority has today closed the Denpasar airport temporarily due to ash cloud interference.

These kinds of situations can change quickly so it is always a good idea to stay up to date if you are planning on travelling to Bali soon.

With  a lot of commentary surrounding the seismic events, so we wanted to share a couple of reliable sources that we rely on for up to date information and travel warnings.

For up to date information on flights check out Flight Radar.

And keep up to date with this great Facebook Group form locals and expats on the island.
