A cool new seafood eatery has splashed onto the shores of Bali’s hippest neighborhood, Canggu. Inspired by beachside vibes and the seaside shacks of Bali, Fishbone Local has already become the weekend hotspot for the uber trendy Canggu crew.


From the backyard lawn area that is perfect for the kiddies (and even more perfect for parents), to the dining and cocktail area for the late-nighters. Fishbone has a little somethin’ somethin’ for anyone who loves chilled vibes, good food and no non-sense drinks.


We are swooning over their rotating menu that takes its salty cues from the famous Balinese Seafood BBQ (ala Jimbaran and Echo Beach) and the best coastal cultures from around the world. One day you’ll find pan-seared barramundi with sambal alongside a Vietnamese-style slaw, while next they might have you feasting on beer-battered fish and chips, swordfish tikka skewers or Hawaiian style tuna poké.


The bar keeps things simple with a minimalist beer and wine list. Here the cocktails play center stage with margaritas, spritzers, gimlets and other timeless classics brought to life with the local flavours of kaffir lime, pandan and pomelo.


At Fishbone Local their philosophy is simple: use as much sustainably sourced seafood in the menu as possible. Fishbone is leading the way in Bali with their focus on Fair Trade and total commitment to ocean stewardship. The restaurant partners with Bali Sustainable Seafood, a social enterprise based in Denpasar that aims to minimise the ecological impact of fishing while ensuring the economic livelihood of local fishermen and their communities.


Sleek recycled interiors reflect the sustainability focus of this 100 seater restaurant. Whether it’s the timber tabletops, fishing net menu baskets or repurposed crab trap light fixtures or feelgood Fair Trade food Fishbone delivers on their environmental promise.
