Over the years, Bali has become the top travel destination in Asia—and for good reason. This little island is simply brimming with activities and natural beauty: from volcanic mountains, to stunning rice terraces; pristine beaches to colourful reefs, hidden waterfalls to world-class surf breaks,...the list goes on.

Unfortunately, the weight of mass tourism has proven too heavy for the island to handle and the Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar can no longer accommodate the demand and sheer volume of flights.

Bali’s Governor, I Wayan Koster, recently announced plans to build a second international airport in the northern village of Kubutambahan - several hour’s driver from Bali’s more famous areas like Seminyak and Kuta.

Bali’s so popular that you’d think there’d be nothing left to discover but you would be wrong. We hope the new airport will encourage you to venture beyond the party zones and witness the island’s hidden gems and the rich Balinese culture of the villages in the North and West.
