Nyepi is a Balinese "Day of Silence" that is commemorated every Isakawarsa (Saka New Year) according to the Balinese calendar (in 2018, it falls on March 17) is a day of silence, fasting and meditation for the Balinese.

Park Hotel and Villa Nusa Dua is delighted to be part of this “a Balinese own unique celebration, there were highlight of allure agenda prior and post NYEPI celebrating.


Two days prior to NYEPI DAY, Park Hotel Nusa Dua Suites and Villas guests can experience Melasti. Melasti is a Hindu Balinese purification ceremony and ritual, which according to Balinese calendar is held several days prior to the Nyepi holy day. Melasti ceremony is held on the edge of the beach with the aim to purify oneself of all the bad things in the past and throw it to the ocean. At Nusa Dua area 10 minutes’ drive from the resort, Melasti held at Mengiat Beach and Segara Samuh beach. This beautiful celebration is great opportunity to learn Bali culture and photo opportunity.

Ogoh – Ogoh Parade

Ogoh-Ogoh' carnival flood the streets with people and creative demonic statues made of bamboo and paper which symbolize negative elements or evil spirits, a day before Nyepi day which is known as 'Pangrupukan'. The parade starts around 3:00PM and ends at mighnight by burning the 'Ogoh-Ogoh' to symbolize that the evil spirits are driven away. The carnival held centralized just outside ITDC ( Indonesia Tourism Development Center ) area gates  just 7 minutes’ drive from the resort and guests were welcome to join and experience.

NYEPI DAY 17th March 2018

Tourist in Bali including our in house guests required to stay inside the resort during the celebration.  Guests were spent their quality time with your family and enjoy the Nyepi Day.
