You survived the wedding and all the stress that went with it, and now it is time for the two of you to relax and enjoy the beginning of your life together. Bali is a great choice for your honeymoon, with amazing natural sites, historic places, and beauty all around.

Make It Memorable From the Beginning

To start off the honeymoon right, give your new wife a gift that will fill her with fond memories every time she looks at it, such as jewelry or a watch for women. And to really make an impression (and show her that she made the right choice!), call ahead to the hotel and ask if they provide any special honeymoon service, such as placing flowers and champagne in the room to surprise her when you arrive.

Don’t Miss the Uluwatu Temple

You should dress in a respectful manner to go into the temple, but trading shorts for pants (and covering your shoulders) is worth it for the view alone. The temple is perched on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean, and the view is spectacular.

Every day at sunset you can enjoy the Uluwatu temple dance, a popular event. Make sure you arrive early to get a seat.

The temple is surrounded by a forest, which is home to a multitude of monkeys (keep an eye on your belongings, because they do enjoy stealing sunglasses and other items from tourists). What could be more memorable than hanging out with monkeys in a stunning setting? It would definitely make a good story to tell the folks back home.

Visit a Volcano

Even if neither one of you is much on hiking, you won’t regret the decision to hike up Mount Batur. The views are spectacular, especially if you get up extra early to get to the summit, where you will be treated to an amazing sunrise. The hike will take about 2 hours each way, and you should be sure to wear comfy walking shoes and dress in layers to be ready for the temperature changes as you walk. Don't forget to take some bottled water!

Once at the peak, take some time to wander around the volcano’s crater. In some places you can even spot hot smoke coming up. And guess what? There’s monkeys here, too!

Go in Style

As fun as traveling is, it can often be stressful to figure out how exactly you should spend your time and the logistics of getting to where you want to go. Finding a reputable and well-reviewed tour guide company can take a lot of the worry away.

Take a Day Where Nothing Is Planned

Sometimes the most memorable part of a vacation is an adventure you stumble on by accident. You don’t have to have every second planned. Make sure that you have at least one day where nothing is scheduled, either to lounge on the beach or just to look around Bali.

Asking around – the desk clerk, the hotel maid, the waiter, your tour guide – for their favorite spot on the island is a great way to find a fun, safe spot to start exploring.

Take Lots of Pictures!

As hard as it is to believe, someday, off in the future, the memories of your honeymoon won’t be as vivid as they are as soon as you get home. Don’t just take it for granted that you’ll remember everything. Take lots of pictures and make lots of notes about what sites were seen, the people you met, and the unexpected things that happened. Your honeymoon will be unforgettable, but you’ll definitely want some tangible keepsakes of the event so that you can remanence about the fun you had and share it all easily with friends and family.

Pages and pages could be written about Bali and all there is to do and see there. A little planning, as well as planning to be spontaneous, can help ensure a very memorable and special honeymoon for you both.
