Wedged between the popular ‘hoods of Kuta and Seminyak, Legian is a small town offering the best of both worlds in the form of colourful markets, budget to mid-range eats and stays, and of course, pretty sunset views. Here’s why Legian is still one of our favourite places in Bali.

Want to be in on the party scene in Kuta yet not exactly stay in the hustle and bustle? Legian’s your best bet. It’s definitely not low-key but you can expect more laid back vibes and less chaos aka loud party-goers. But if you feel like having a bit of fun, head to some of Legian’s best bars which are amongst some of our favourite in Bali.

Legian’s also a great alternative for those on a tighter budget (because we’re all not the Kardashians). Unlike trendy Seminyak next door, finding a nice resort or villa will definitely not break the bank. We absolutely love Astagina ResortIni Vie Villa, and Padma Resort.

Tip: Don’t miss out on our deal for Sun Island Hotel & Spa Legian which gives you 76% off your booking, daily breakfast, plus a massage if you’re staying over a week!

Plus, everything is within reach and there are plenty of things to do in Legian. Soak up the sun at Double Six Beachlearn to surf at Padma Beach, or bring the kids for a fun day of slip sliding at Waterbom Bali. Feeling peckish? Grab a bite at some of the best restaurants in the neighbourhood.

End your day with some retail therapy. Keep calm and barter your way through the large Mertanadi Art Market where you’ll find traditional Balinese souvenirs and knick knacks. Pro tip: Always start from a third of the offered price and then up. Or, pop over to Seminyak for more boutique high-end shopping.
