Fancy staying in a lux resort, indulging in unlimited fresh seafood by the ocean, and witnessing Bali’s famous sunsets? Hop on your scooter and head down south to Jimbaran.

Tucked along a wide peaceful bay in the Bukit Peninsula, the once sleepy fishing village of Jimbaran is fast becoming an alternative for those seeking a more laid back vacation in South Bali, away from the hustle and bustle of Seminyak and Kuta.

Never been to Jimbaran? No worries, here’s a handy guide on the must-do’s and hot spots in Jimbaran for your next Bali trip.

Monkey Forest, Ubud

Seriously, if you’re not eating fresh seafood on the beach with your toes in the sand and the sea breeze in your hair, were you even in Jimbaran?

Head to our favourite Bawang Merah Beachfront Restaurant. Come sundown, candles will be lit on your table and your grilled seafood dinner (caught earlier in the day) will be served along with some tasty Balinese sambal.

For a more rustic beachside experience, pop over to Made Bagus or Menega Cafe for seafood platters served with amazing secret sauces. Want to splurge on the best? Grab a seat at Nelayan Restaurant & Puri Bar and enjoy your choice of seafood cooked à-la Mediterranean.

Monkey Forest, Ubud

Bali has so many gorgeous beaches that #beachlife is pretty much the vibe everywhere. Due to its prime location, Jimbaran is home to some hidden gems that have fewer crowds.

If you want to experience a natural ‘jacuzzi’, you’ll find it in Tegal Wangi Beach where there are little holes on the shore filled with fresh seawater that you can sit in! If you’ve come to surf, Balangan Beach is where you can catch waves, regardless if you’re a beginner or a pro.

Of course, you can't miss out on the sunset especially when Jimbaran's got some of the best views. We've been obsessing over the fresh and intimate Ibiza in Bali for authentic Spanish tapas, wine and music. Or head over to Above Eleven, a stylish rooftop bar for amazing views and innovative cocktails.

Monkey Forest, Ubud

Looking for a tropical escape in amazing villas and resorts that look out over the stunning Indian Ocean? You’ll feel right at home in Jimbaran. Plus, it’s close to the airport so our trusty drivers can whisk you (and your bags) straight away to paradise!

Booking a girls’ getaway or family holiday? Check out the super chic and spacious 4-bedroom Villa Aiko which has a large lawn, a kids’ playroom, a 15-meter pool plus a shaded rooftop jacuzzi and deck for that fun yoga session. Or, book your stay at the five-star Movenpick Resort & Spa - they’re just 100 meters from the beach and houses a kids club and the incredible Arkipela Spa.

For something more upscale by the beach, we’d recommend InterContinental Bali. With their complete spa facility (and in-room massages), fully-equipped gym, an array of exciting activities offered, and amazing dining options, you can sit back and relax. Tip: Grab some drinks at Sunset Beach Bar & Grill and enjoy the view.

AYANA Resort & Spa is another favourite; they’ve got 3 swimming pools, access to a private beach, a fab onsite spa, and of course, the famous Rock Bar.

From gorgeous private villas for honeymooners to family-friendly accoms, Jimbaran definitely has plenty to offer everyone.
