Stop At: Besakih Temple, Jl. Raya Besakih, Karangasem Indonesia

Besakih Temple is a pura complex in the village of Besakih on the slopes of Mount Agung in eastern Bali, Indonesia. It is the most important, the largest and holiest temple of Hindu religion in Bali, and one of a series of Balinese temples.

    Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Lempuyang Temple, Jl. Pura Telaga Mas Lempuyang, Karangasem 80852 Indonesia

Lempuyang Temple or Pura Lempuyang Luhur is one of Bali’s oldest and most venerated temples, on par with Besakih (the ‘mother temple’ of Bali). The temple is also believed to predate the majority of Hindu temples on the island. A highlight on any travel itinerary for the fit and adventurous, the main temple lies at 1,175 meters above sea level, on the peak of the namesake Mount Lempuyang in East Bali.

    Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Tirta Gangga, Jl. Abang-Amlapura, Karangasem 80852 Indonesia

The Tirta Gangga royal water garden is a cool retreat in the eastern highlands of the Karangasem regency in East Bali. It lies on the south-eastern slope of the island’s highest mountain, Mount Agung, and was built in 1946 during the reign of the late king of Karangasem, Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem (1887-1966).

    Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Ujung Water Palace, Jl. Lettu Alit Tumbu Village, Karangasem 80811 Indonesia

aman Ujung Water Palace is different to most temples in Bali. The complex consists of pools and a large stunning garden which you can also view from above. You won’t find many other tourists around, making the relaxing scenery a great way to escape the chaotic side of Bali.

    Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Taman Wisata Kertha Gosa, Jalan Surapati and Jalan Puputan, Klungkung Indonesia

Kerta Gosa, also ‘Kertha Gosa’ and referred to locally as Taman Gili Kerta Gosa, is a historical landmark in Semarapura, the main town of the Klungkung regency in East Bali. Kerta Gosa forms part of the Puri Semarapura royal palace complex and features 2 main structures – a grand hall or the namesake Bale Kerta Gosa, which has ceilings filled with Kamasan-style paintings, and the Bale Kambang ‘floating hall’ or pavilion that's surrounded by a moat.

    Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Tukad Unda Dam, Klungkung Indonesia

Tukad Unda Dam, Bali, Indonesia. The dam is made on a river Tukad Unda – a major one in Bali – in Klungkung. It is a popular spot among the locals, who come to bathe and wash their clothes. The dam is also a wonderful source of play for the children, who splash water from the buckets on each other.

    Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Candi Dasa, Jl. Raya Candidasa, Karangasem 80801 Indonesia

Officially known as Segkidu Village but called Candidasa for tourism purposes, this east coast settlement is heavily developed with hotels.
